STATEMENT

With heavy hearts we address a tragic loss for all Nigerians. The untimely passing of Mohbad has left a void that can never be filled and has left us in mourning, and our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.

In light of this devastating event and the subsequent allegations of negligence, violence and drug abuse that has unfortunately persisted within our label, we acknowledge our shortcomings and take responsibility for our lack of action in preventing violence within the group. We deeply regret any oversights and failures to address these issues promptly which could have made this current event avoidable.

To show our commitment to honor Mohbad's memory and legacy, we have made the difficult decision to disband Marlian Music record label. It is a step we believe is necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all artists and members associated with our organization.

To honor Imole and do what is right by his family, we have decided to release all his catalog and music rights owned by Marlian Records to his only son. We hope this gesture will help in preserving his musical legacy for generations to come.

We are wholeheartedly willing to cooperate with any investigation related to this matter. We will make every previous Marlian member available for questioning at the request of the Nigerian police, in the pursuit of justice and accountability. I will make myself available after the conclusion of prior engagement. Our aim is to seek justice and ensure transparency throughout this process.

Thank you for your understanding during this trying time. Let us collectively strive for a music industry that stands united against violence, substance abuse, and any harm to our fellow artists.

We are not associated with Sam Larry (Samson Balogun Eletu) and are not complicit with any of his actions or that of any other suspects in the death of Imole.

Furthermore,

We recognize the importance of supporting our artists during this transitional period. We understand that some artists have unexpired contracts with the label, and we believe in fostering an environment of growth and choice.

Hence, we are granting all artists whose contracts are still in effect the ability to explore and pursue other management avenues. Our intention is to ensure that they have the freedom to make choices that align with their artistic vision and aspirations for the future.

We remain committed to assisting and facilitating this process, working closely with each artist to facilitate a smooth transition. Our primary concern is the well-being and success of our artists as they embark on this new chapter in their careers.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this transformative time.
